TURNER, SAWSWELL reply to Lynn
Researching the following families in Marion Co, Il.: Paul Dall Lorenzo JACOBS, son of Andrew JACOBS and Ruth SAWSWELL. Paul married Amandy Mildred TURNER, daughter of Allen TURNER and Martha MIDDLETON. Martha MIDDLETON was the daughter of William MIDDLETON and Nancy EDDINGS. Nancy EDDINGS was the daughter of John EDDINGS and Frances Elizabeth WEAVER. Frances Elizabeth WEAVER was the daughter of David WEAVER. Andrew Jacobs second marriage was to Sarah HOOYE. Martha Middleton's first marriage was to John ELBIN. Allen Turner may have also married a woman named Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) and his father may have been Julius Turner. The Middleton line had Cherokee blood through the Weaver line. The Jacobs line may be Jewish, but I have not been able to confirm this. My grandfather the Rev. Carl L. Jacobs, a Southern Baptist minister from Southern Illinois. Would like to correspond with anyone working on these lines.

Is there anyone out there doing research on the Mulvaney family? I am perticularly looking for the family line of Christopher Mulvaney who married Zilpha Jane Underwood. They had a son by the name of George Washington Mulvaney who was born January 5, 1815 and died July 20, 1881. He first married Susannah Smith and they had a large number of children, John H., Henry F., Terissa Catherine, Sarah, Christopher, Solomon, Hiram, Matilda Ann, Joell and George Washington Jr. When she died he married Ann Moreton Adams, They had the following Children; Wesley Hanson Born Sept. 8, 1861, Florence born April 4, 1865, Amelia L., born April 13, 1865 and Harty Asbury or Asbury Harty born June 16, 1867. If anyone out there has any information on this family, I would love to hear from you as I have lots of more recent information that I would be happy to share.

I am looking for any published newspaper Birth announcement,death announcements marriages or anything pretaining to my grandparents Fred Ernest THOMPSON born February 20, 1885 Died May 29,1949 or his wife Lucy Venus MULVANEY born November 21, 1891 Died November 21, 1969. Both were born in Marion County, Illinois. Thank you for all of your trouble as I am hoping that a some kind of a document for Fred will lead me to the names of my Great grandparents, his parents as I have no names or anything for them and I am at a standstill until I can come up with their names and hopefully some dates of some kind. Freds obit says that their names were William and Bethinia McGee Thompson but I have been searching Marion County and the surrounding counties and all I can find are brick walls, there is no sign of them having lived anywhere but I know that Grandpa Fred was born in Marion County. HELP!!!!!!!! any little bit will be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead for all your trouble.

I am searching for info on the John EDDINGS family and William MIDDLETON family. I am especially interested in the "EDDINGS" family because there is a connection to my WOLF family in Warren Co. TN. John's daughter Nancy Elizabeth EDDINGS married William MIDDLETON in Warren Co. TN and their first daughter was named for my WOLF relative. They named their daughter Annis WOLF FAULKNER. The EDDINGS and the MIDDLETON families lived too far from my WOLF family in Warren Co. TN for her to be named at random. They are related somehow probably through another family that resided in Washington Co./Scott Co. VA in 1804.

I am seeking any information on Dr. D.K. (Daniel Keller) Green who moved to Marion County, Illinois during the typhoid epidemic in the mid 1800's. He was born 1822, married Zerrilda Winans of Ohio in 1843. He attended the Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky during the 1840's. His father was John Newton Green either from Kentucky or Virginia. Am also seeking any information regarding John Newton, if available, i.e. date of birth, married to?, children, where resided, etc.

I am looking for information on HOCKADAY, THOMAS L. and his family. Thomas HOCKADAY was born in Harrison Co., IN, in 1833 and married CLACK, NANCY JANE on May 3, 1861 in Marion Co., IL. After his marriage to Nancy, I lost track of his whereabouts until 1900, when he shows up in the census for Morgan Co., Missouri. Thomas and Nancy had a daughter named Eliza Jane HOCKADAY that was born in Sept of 1869 in Illinois. I do not know what county she was born in. I need to find a record of birth for Eliza Jane showing Thomas and Nancy as her parents or find them as a family in the 1870 or 1880 census. I had someone do a look-up in the 1870 census for Marion Co., but Thomas and his family are not listed. If someone could help me find source documentation to validate Eliza Jane HOCKADAY's parents, it would be greatly appreciated. 1/98

I am searching for information on a TURNER family who moved to Fabius township, Marion Co., MO about between 1820 and 1830. THOMAZIN ELLZEY TURNER (b. 1733 in VA) migrated in 1810 to Wood Co., WV. Sometime after the 1820 census he moved with his family to Marion Co. Two of his sons moved with him. They were: WILLIAM TURNER (b. ca. 1805) and PRESLEY TURNER (b. ca. 1795). A grand daughter named ALMIRA (Turner) KELLY, b. ca. 1832, also moved to Marion Co. She was the wife of MAJOR KELLY. I would like to find any information on THOMAZIN ELLZEY TURNER, but especially the information surrounding his death/probate which occurred 1850 and 1860. 1/98
