WOOD reply to Derek Doran-Wood
February 1999
I'm looking for record of a William WOOD or his family in Marion County, from around 1860-1865. He was born ca1796 in Gloversville, NY. Later he was a Presbyterian circuit rider in Arkansas, with the last record of his being there as the birth of a son William Thomas WOOD in 1850. Family tradition is that he moved the family to Centralia, IL or thereabouts by the Civil War. At least 3 of his sons served in IL regiments during the War. He was said to have had 30(!) children by two wives, including my 2-gt. g'father Walter WOOD (b.1838). Other children of his who may have been in Marion Co.: George (b.1820), Harmon and Harrison (twins b.1822), David (1831), Warren (1836), Jasper (1841), Morgan (1843), John (1849), and aforementioned William Thomas WOOD. WALIGORSKI DEATH CERTIFICATE reply to Jim Waligorski
January 1999
I mailed a letter to the Marion County Clerk office requesting a copy of my grand fathers death certificate. His name was Michael (Mike) Waligorski (wife's name was Martha) of DuBois who was injured in a coal mining accident at the DuBois mine. He was transported from DuBois to St. Mary's hospital in Centralia where he died on 9 Jan 1941. This information is from the Nashville paper. His death certificate is not in Washington County or Perry County. I was told the death certificate would be in the county he died. The answer I received for Marion County Clerk was no record. My address is 24722 Deer Ridge Lane, Athens, AL 35613.   If you know where I can find this document would be greatly appreciated.
