CARPENTER, CASEY posted by Jeanette L. "Carpenter" Covington    I am trying to research my father's side of the family. Born in Centrailia, Bobby Dwight Carpenter, Sr. (b. 12/12/29) to Glen Dwight "Andy" Carpenter (b. 10/11/07 - d. 12/83) and Vera Mae Jones Carpenter (b. 05/23/10 - d. 08/82), her parents were Laura Faigle Jones (b. 08/82 - d. 10/51) and Cless E. Jones (b. 06/1883 - d. 09/43) his parents remain a mystery to me at this time. Vera and Glen Carpenter were also born in Centrailia or surrounding area, possibly Walnut Hill. Also born to Vera and Glen were William G. Carpenter and Patricia Mae Carpenter (Hall) both now deceased. It is my understanding that my father's grandmother or great-grandmother on my grandfather's side was Ida Casey. I am not sure if Casey is her married, or maiden name. Other names include Merle, Joe, Eileen, and Gene CARPENTER, Jerri and Bonnie BROEKER, the surname COPPLE, and from grandmother's side FAIGLE (FIGEL?) although I am not clear on where they all fit in the lineage. On my grandfather's side the heritage is Cherokee and German. On grandmother's, German. Please feel free to contact me. Thank you, Jeanette L. SWINBURNEposted by TobyTNT@aol.com My great-grandfather as married in Salem, IL in 1844. I am trying to find a record of this marriage. He did not mention the name of his bride in the fragment of journal I have. However, I think her name may have been Mary Ann Carey. She was about 14 when they married. j Edwin was born in England in 1813 and emigrated to this country sometime around 1833 or so, give or take several years. I believe his son, Alva Curtis Swinburne, was born in Salem, but have no data on that either. I would appreciate anything you can find out because the Clayton Library has nothing on Marion County.

CARTER, STOGDALEposted by CCa1654526@aol.com
My name is Charles A. Carter and I am the youngest son of Vently Carter born in 1917 in Marion Co. He was the son of Winnifred Burkett and a gentleman by the name of Stogdale. Her parents were Alice and Joe Burkett. Her parents refused to allow her to marry Stogdale and she later married Charles Carter. I guess what I have always wanted to know was more about the Stogdale family. I had recently received this information about my father from Wilma Meadors Hawkins who now lives in Centralia. She was at my father's funeral in May, 1998. My parents are both buried in the Garrison Temple Cemetery. I would also be interested in any information you could provide me with the Carter family and their history. Please e-mail me or put me in the right direction!!
