Looking for relatives of Navy Pilot Ensign Charles Wilburn Scott HULLAND. Parents were: Charles William HULLAND 7/12/1893-Oct. 1974, and Effie Gertrude HULLAND (Dates unknown) Info says the parents lived at 423 1/2 Johnson St. Centralia, 1944-1948, buried Centralia. Ensign HULLAND was lost at sea in the Philippines 25 April 1945. Recently he was honored at a memorial in France. He was shot down 20 Aug 1944, during the Invasion of South France and recovered 9 Sept. by Allies. Would like to let the family know about the memorial. Interested in further information about Jacob DAYTON. He & wife Ellenor with children: Carlisle, Ann Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Arthur & Ada DAYTON appeared in Centralia Twp. pg 25 Marion, Illinois in the 1860 census. Does anyone have access to the 1865 state census or any information about said family. They do not appear in the 1870 or 1880 census in Illinois. Nor do they appear in 1880 census anywhere in the US. I believe that Jacob died in Marion, Illinois Thanks from Montana -- He is my husband's great grandfather.

Re: Cemetaries in Sandoval area. Trying to find burial site for Joe/Joseph CANFIELD, d. 19 Mar 1923, age about 18 mo. died of whooping cough. Also his sister Dorothy May CANFIELD, d. 27 Feb 1923, age about 3 yr 11 mo, also died whooping cough. Both buried "in Sandoval" per death certificates. Looking for any information about Gideon Burton(born c.1775) and his wife Martha, one of the first settlers of Marion County before 1820. He had several children: Dorothy- married John Carter of Clinton Co., Allen- married Susannah Reed, Wiley- married Sarah? Daughter-married Jesse Griffin, Daughter- married Frederick Berry. All of these marriages seem to have occurred before 1825, as I have not found state records in the archives. Gideon is mentioned in the History of Clinton and Marion Counties book published in 1881. His family came to IL by way of Tennessee. Gideon reportedly died in Marion County in 1835. His children were born in South Carolina. Any help appreciated.
