I'm searching for the family of Alva T. PRESTON b. Aug. 1868, either in MO or IL, the 1880 Census has a Alva Thomas PRESTON, age 12 as a son of Elijah PRESTON living in Marion Co., IL. But born in MO. Elijah PRESTON b. 1842, MO, both parents b. IL. I found a marriage for a Elijah PRESTON to Loraena CARTZ, 29 Sept. 1866 in Marion Co. on the 1880 Census there is a Lora H. as Elijah's wife. My Alva named one of his daughters Lora H. Also found who might be Elijah PRESTON's father, Isham, also known as Jacob and Isom PRESTON b. 1824, found him listed differently in different census'. A Isham PRESTON married Ralls Elizabeth BRICKEY, 4 Apr. 1850 in Monroe Co. IL. 1870 census has Jacob PRESTON and wife Elizabeth (Central City) and 1880 Census has Isham with wife Elizabeth in Centralia, Marion Co. IL. (2 daughter's names the same and born about the same makes me believe that this is the same man, but Elizabeth wouldn't be my Elijah's mother, he was born 1842.) I also found marriages for one of the daughters of Isham listed in both the 1870 & 1880 census' Clara E. married William D. PHILLIPS, 18 Mar 1896, Marion Co. (Isom age 85 living with them in 1910 census in Marion Co.) If anyone has any infomation of this family I'd love to get it and share my findings. Thanks, Karen King St. Louis, MO
