Obituary - Mildred Bundy

Mildred Ann Bundy was born in Nashville, Tenn., on Oct. 20, 1846, and departed this life at her home in Salem, Jan. 24, 1926, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 4 days.

At the age of five she moved with her parents to Illinois, settling in Stevenson township, Marion County. She lived in Stevenson township until 1888 at which time she was married to William K. Bundy of Raccoon Township.

Fifty-seven years ago she became a member of the Salem Christian church, having been baptized at Mt. Moriah by Rev. John A Williams, an old pioneer preacher of Southern Illinois. After her marriage she transferred her membership to Mt. Moriah but about three years ago placed her membership with Salem church at the same time making her monthly pledge to Mt. Moriah congregation.

After the death of her husband, which occurred in 1919, she the constant care and companionship of her granddaughter, Miss Elizabeth FRENCH, whom she reared from childhood to present time. Other grandchildren are as follows: A. O. FRENCH, Dayton, Ohio; William FRENCH, Oklahoma; Mrs. Gladys KELL, Mrs. Della BURGE, Mrs. Minnie FRIEDRICH, Mr. Orville BUNDY, Mrs. Florence Moody, Miss Nellie West, Lawrence West, Mrs. Mayme Bass, William West and Mrs. Louella Newman.

She leaves a brother Z. T. GAINS of Keenes, Ill., two nephews, William and Durham Gains.

Mrs. BUNDY was of a quiet disposition and during life made friends that cannot forget her Christian spirit. Funeral services were held at Mt. Moriah church at 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 27th, with Rev. O. L. HAWKINS officiating.
