Joseph McLEAN (b 1831 in PA, D 1877 in Iuka, IL) married Rebecca A. FOREACKERS (B 1837; died 1880 in Iuka, IL; they had 13 children. Basil METCALF (b 1797; d. 1863 in Cairo, IL; lived in Marion County, IL) married Catherin Simmons and they had 8 children (I am related to son Reuben (1825 - 1875) - he married Alvira J. Spartine and they had 7 children. Richard METCALF (b 1871 in Iuka, d 1927 in Indiana) he married Nancy Nevada McLEAN and they had 2 daughters - Mabel, and Kathryn. George MERIDITH (b. 1810 in Ohio; d 1879 in Odin Twsp.) married 3 times - Rachel COURSON, Ann Eliza HENRY, AND Lydia DICKENS. Had 18 children total by 1st two wives. Harvey MERIDITH (b. 1838; d. 1878 in Carrigan Twsp., Marion County, IL). Married Sarah M. STRIBLING and they had 7 children. I am related to Alonzo B. MERIDITH (b. 1867 in Odin; d. 1951 in MO). William's father is Caleb Cope SPEER, Jr. who is buried in Christian County IL. William's grandmother is Harriet LAND my ggAunt she came from Swarkstone Derbyshire, England in 1849 with her family and settled in Washington County Missouri. Caleb, Sr. is buried in "Huda Chitwood Cemetery" in Reynolds County Missouri. Caleb, Sr. second wife was Arta Malissa (WILBURN) CHITWOOD. I would like to communicate with relatives of William still in Marion County IL. I am willing to share information. William's brother is Arthur Powell who married Willie May Riggins on 23 NOv 1904 and his sister is Minnie May who married Fred O. McCurdy on 25 July 1907.
